About Ronald Federici
Dr. Ronald Federici is the Clinical Director and Supervisor at Neuropsychological and Family Therapy Associates in McLean, VA. A licensed and board-certified Clinical Developmental Neuropsychologist, Dr. Federici has been practicing for over 22 years. Dr. Ronald Federici was educated at some of the top schools in the Mid-West. He earned his B.A. at Purdue University, and he currently holds two Master’s degrees and two Doctorates from the University of Chicago and the University of Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Though Dr. Ronald Federici’s practice helps adults and children of all ages and circumstances, Dr. Federici specializes in the evaluation and treatment of children from post-institutionalized settings, namely children who have spent time in orphanages in both the U.S. and abroad. Dr. Federici typically treats patients suffering from severe trauma, attachment disorders, learning problems/school failure, deprivation, and violent and/or unmanageable behaviors. Due to the international context in which Dr. Federici works, he is both nationally and internationally recognized as an expert in his field, and he has spoken and been published in medical journals around the world. Currently, Dr. Ronald Federici holds board memberships and fellowships at 10 top Psychology and Neuropsychology organizations, including the American College of Professional Neuropsychology, the National Academy of Neuropsychology, and American Board of Medical Psychotherapists. Dr. Federici is also a licensed school psychologist and is licensed with the Virginia Board of Medicine. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Ronald Federici also serves as the Staff Neuropsychologist at Mt. Vernon and Dominion Psychiatric Hospitals, located in Northern Virginia. Dr. Ronald Federici is the author of the 1998 neuropsychology book Help for the Hopeless Child: A Guide for Families (with Special Discussion for Assessment and Treatment of the Post-Institutionalized Child). His newest book, Escape from Despair: Through the Eyes of the Child, is currently at press and is slated for release in the coming months.
